What if your local laundry became the coolest brand in town?
Washy is a laundromat that somehow ended up acting like a streetwear brand. Care labels became graphics, detergent came in a motor oil can, and waiting for your clothes to wash became a perfectly valid reason to do absolutely nothing. The project started with a simple thought: laundry is boring, and that's okay. Not everything needs to be productive, optimized, or reinvented.Sometimes you just sit there and wait for your clothes to get clean. Washy embraces that idea with a bit of humor, a bit of irony, and absolutely no intention of taking itself too seriously
The idea was simple: take the visual universe of Brazilian dive bars, neighborhood markets, and cachaça brands with questionable names, mix it with classic modernist typography, and completely ruin it. Dakueba draws from references like cheap packaging, hand-painted signs, and cachaças that look like they came straight out of an ’80s Brazilian sex comedy. “Xixi de Virgem” (Virgin Piss), “Buceta Lavada” (Washed Pussy), “Xoxota da Índia” (Pussy from India).
The challenge was turning all that chaos into a visual language. Taking the excess, the vernacular, and the bad taste, organizing it with intention, and finding beauty exactly where you normally wouldn’t expect it.
Recently, while rewatching Naruto, I started paying attention to something that usually goes unnoticed: how people move around in that world. In a place with no cars, no traffic as we know it, and where ninjas can run faster than Ferraris, one question came to mind: what would the signage system of a place like that look like?
That question became the starting point for this project. I imagined a series of posters and signs for Konoha, translating clans, symbols, and familiar elements from the Naruto universe into a visual language inspired by Japanese street signage. The result is a collection that brings together art direction, typography, 3D objects, and world-building,
all born from a simple question that opened up a lot of creative possibilities.
